Day 1

Arrival

After your arrival at Dar es salaam International Airport, you will meet your guide waiting to transfer your accommodation where you may relax or you may experience a town tour and start discovering Tanzania.

Day 2

Ruaha National Park

After breakfast safari to Ruaha National park will start. We will enjoy a hot lunch on arrival then will proceed in the early afternoon for our first bird watching experience along the Ruaha River before dark.

Day 3

Ruaha National Park

We arise early with the birds, and head before sunrise to catch them feeding and preparing for the day. We return for a late breakfast before resting and reviewing our photos, and again head out in the late afternoon before the sun sets. You can expect to see a variety of resident and migratory birds such as ashy starlings, yellow chested love birds ( both endemic species) along with the crested barbet, spur winged geese, kestrals, hornbills, turacos along with the local predatory birds of prey.

Day 4

Udzungwa Mountain National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, we leave Ruaha and drive east heading in the direction of the Udungwa Mountains, a small location that supports one of the highest diversity of primates and birds in all of Tanzania. En route we enjoy our lunch box, before reaching our destination in the late afternoon. Apart from the bird life, this mountainous park is also famous for its primates and waterfalls.

Day 5

Udzungwa Mountain National Park

 After an early morning breakfast, we set out with the park ranger for a trek to the upper levels of the park. En route, as we increase in elevation, we can expect to find the different species of endemic resident forest birds such as forest partridge, african marabou, crowned eagles along with the various winged sunbirds. Complementing the birds, endemic primates such as red colobus monkeys, sante mangadees and blue skyes make for an unforgettable experience.. Arriving at our destination above the falls, we enjoy our lunchbox and rest.

Day 6

Saadani National Park

After breakfast, we break camp and head north east towards Saadan National Park, located on the coast 100km north of Dar es Salaam. We stop on the way to enjoy our lunch box before finally arriving in the late afternoon at our destination.

Day 7

Saadani National Park

After breakfast, we set off for a full day drive in Saadan National Park, the only park in Tanzania that combines the eco-system of the aquatic marine environment of the Indian Ocean with the adjacent terrestrial systems. The combination of these two systems provides a unique opportunity to see mammals and birds together within the same drive. Also other mammals including predators can be observed without too much trouble. At the same time, Madette Beach is a breeding site for the green turtles while spectacular birds such as the cuckoo hawk, African skimmer, greater flamingo, lanner falcon and pels fishing owl are easily spotted. At the end of the day, relax and dine beside the Indian Ocean before overnighting.

Day 8

Amani Nature Reserve

After a leisurely breakfast, we stay in the coastal area and drive north to the Amani Nature Reserve, part of the East Usambara Mountains in the Tanga region. We enjoy our lunch box overlooking the Indian Ocean, before arriving at our destination in time for dinner.

Day 9

Amani Nature Reserve

After planning for a late breakfast, we set out for an early bird watching drive which encompasses the natural forest areas, higher and lower, where we expect to observe the different species of birds related to the nearby tea plantations and coffee farms as well as endemic birds found in the forest itself. We can be expected to see endemic birds such as the nduk fish owl, amani sunbird, banded green sunbird as well as the green headed oriole. We return to camp late in the morning for brunch, before resting and reviewing out photos and heading out in the early evening again for a further drive before dark.

Day 10

Mkomanzi National Park

After a leisurely breakfast and carrying our packed lunch, we leave the forest area of the Amani Reserve and set off for the drier grasslands of the Mkomazi National Park, close to the Kenyan border. We enjoy our lunch box on the way and arrive at our destination in the middle of the afternoon.

Day 11

Mkomanzi National Park

Before breakfast, we head out for an early morning “birding” drive arriving back at the camp for breakfast. Mkomazi is the habitat of the “Northern Dry Specials” such as the shelley’s starling, three streaked tchagra and the vulturine guinea fowl. Other grassland birds such as hornbills, secretary birds, kori bustards and ostrich are easily seen. We enjoy a hot lunch and rest in the camp, heading out before dark for another drive before returning for dinner.

Day 12

Visiting Chemka Hotspring (Majimoto)

After a breakfast a journey to Arusha will start, On the way to Arusha you will see Mount Kilimanjaro on various point however depend on climatic condition of the day.

Maji Moto, known locally as Kikuletwa Hotsprings, is paradisiac oasis among the Tanzanian savannah, offers captivating, Bounty-styled views, crystal-clean water and dense vegetation around, Chemka oasis is a unique phenomenon – it is the only place in Tanzania (and most likely in the whole East Africa), where the groundwater actively interacted with geothermal sources, forming a number of small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water.

You will have a time for swimming, enjoy local B.B.Q and this will nice time for refreshing after having 10days safaris so as to gain enough energy to continue with our birding safaris.

Day 13

Arusha City Tours

Today it’s a day for sightseeing Arusha city (Tourist City Centre) which will give you the opportunity to experience the Natural attractions, historical attractions and cultural heritage of the city.

Whether you want to learn about the earliest signs of mankind, learn about the city’s history or interact with the local peoples, there are many ways to enjoy your tour. The Clock Tower in Arusha stands at the halfway point between Cairo and Cape Town. Today, the tower marks the central business district of the city. The tower was built by a Greek resident and is the oldest landmark in the city.

Many activities in the city including but not limited to visit Tanzanite Museum Experience, coffee plantation to see how does it prepared and enjoying tasting natural drinking coffee, visiting Natural museum, visiting Masai market, visiting local market and Cultural heritage Centre and also for those wish to go night clubs and personal issue its your time.

Day 14

Arusha National Park

After an early breakfast, we join the park ranger for a nature walk which encompasses the park animals and its very rich and diverse bird life, which varies between the lower grassland and upper forest areas. We can expect to find such birds as hartlaubs turaco and narina trogan, together with the “raptors” in the forested areas while in the vicinity of the lakes and grassland, common birds such as greater flamingos, pelicans, little grebe, heron and ducks among others are found. We return to camp for a hot lunch and early afternoon rest, before setting out in the late afternoon for a flamingo watch at the Momella Lakes.

Day 15

Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, we take our packed lunchbox and proceed through Arusha in the direction of Tarangire National Park. A strategic detour and stop over from the route offers us the possibility of interacting with some of the “plains birds” such as larks and cisticolas among many others on the Masaai Steppe, before finally arriving at Tarangire National Park. Cut into two parts by the Tarangire River, it has water all year around, and subsequently supports a large population of birds and animals. We enjoy our lunch box at Matete picnic site and proceed ahead with a late afternoon drive among the thousand years old baobab trees and numerous elephants and other wildlife and birds. Ashy starlings, the rare yellow love bird are prolific in Tarangire along with ground birds such as hornbills, kingfishers and many aquatic birds in the region of the swamps Whenever “birding”, there always remains the possibility of interaction with big game animals or predators as well.

Day 16

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we leave early, carrying our picnic lunch, and head for Lake Manyara , a pristine soda lake within the confines of the Rift Valley. The lake, together with the surrounding environs form Lake Manyara National Park. The area is privileged to have multiple habitats including the soda lake, ground water forest, alluvial plains, marshland and swamps, all together providing a diverse habitat for over 400 bird species and animals, all in relative close proximity. We lunch at the ‘hot water’ picnic site and then proceed with our “birding drive” along a lake shore tinged pink with flamingos and other aquatic birds. In the “hippo pool” pelicans and cormorants can be found swimming amongst wallowing hippos while a profusion of colourful birds such as sunbirds, starlings, bee-eaters and rollers inhabit the ground water forest. Ornithologists have recorded sightings of over 100 different bird species in one day.

Day 17

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast we will descend On the bare grounds or sand tracks in the Ngorongor Crater you can see nests of Ostiches, Kori bustards, Secretary birds, Grey crowned Cranes, the ground nestling Northern Anteater Chat, Rufous-napped Lark, Capped Whater, Fischer’s Sparrow lark, Red capped Lark and the Grassland Pipit. The tree nestling birds of the Ngorongoro Crater are the Superb Starling, Rufous Tailed Weaver and the African White backed Vulture. The Ngorongoro Crater is also inhabited by birds of prey such as: the Augur buzzard and the Long-crested eagle.

The soda lakes of Ngorongoro are the breeding grounds of thousands of flamingoes and other water birds such as ducks, waders and herons.

We will enjoy our lunch down the crater having a lot refreshment then start a journey to Serengeti for sunset animals watching and overnight.

Day 18

Serengeti National Park

Leaving the Ngorongoro area after a leisurely breakfast, we now enter the Serengeti proper at Nabi Gate. As we proceed across the endless plains of the Serengetti, we can observe the changing habitats from grassland to woodland, as well as the changing animals and birds. We stop on route to enjoy our lunch box before finally arriving in the mid afternoon at our destination.

If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari (with additional cost after request). It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.

Day 20

Serengeti to Lake Victoria shore (Mwanza)

After breakfast, we drive via the western corridor of the Serengeti heading in the direction of Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake in the world. You will enjoy a packed lunch under the acacia trees on route, before exiting the park, finally arriving at Mwanza on the shore of Lake Victoria in the late afternoon. .

Day 21

Rubondo Island National Park

Leaving our overnight lodging, we proceed along the shore of Lake Victoria, stopping for lunch on the way, arriving in Kasenda, before transiting by boat to Rubondo Island. We can now notice the different aquatic bird species with lake shore birds and bottom feeders much in evidence. A short drive across the island through Rubondo National Park will take us to our final destination.

Day 22

Rubondo Island National Park

After breakfast, a morning game drive across “ Rubondo National Park”, is rewarded by the close up presence of animals such as elephant, giraffe, antelopes and the beautiful black and white colobus monkeys. Chimpanzees are also often seen. The majority of the day is however spent at the lake shore where a large percentage of the prolific bird population such as African fish eagles and other raptors hunting tilapia can be easily spotted amongst the resident aquatic birds. We return to the camp for lunch, and after a small rest we continue our drive in the late afternoon before returning for dinner.

Day 23

Rubondo Island National Park

After breakfast, we leave accompanied by a park ranger to visit the “Chimp Habituation Program” where we can observe our closest surviving relatives, living in their natural environment. Terrestrial birds are in evidence in the forest environment. We return to the rest house for a hot lunch and the afternoon is free for you to choose and enjoy the lake shore activities or just simply relax and reflect on the tranquility and uniqueness of your surroundings.

Day 24

Rubondo Island National Park

Another day to enjoy this special location. We set out early morning for a fishing safari on the lake. You will have the opportunity to catch the famous “Nile Perch”, one of the biggest game fish in Africa while at the same time watching the interaction of the fish eagles and other birds within the lake. After a morning on the water, we return to our camp for lunch and then the afternoon is free for relaxation. We all meet up again for dinner, where our fish is cooked and enjoy a cocktail party with our colleagues and friends made during our adventure.

Day 25

Lake Victoria shore(Mwanza)

All good things must come to an end. After breakfast, we meet together for a final comparison of notes and review of what we have achieved before we say good bye to Rubondo and head back to the mainland. We stop on route to enjoy our final lunch box before arriving back in Mwanza town. After a drive around the town which gives us the opportunity of shopping for souvenirs, we continue on to our lodge for the evening in time for dinner

Departure

After a leisurely breakfast and a quiet morning we depart at mid-day for the drive to Mwanza Airport to catch our domestic flight back to Kilimanjaro airport for connection to our international flight home or continue with Zanzibar vacation.
